Rich Scheffer, Sr, who started Tribute in 1992, partnered with his son, Rich Scheffer, Jr. For many years as he grew up in the same saw dust and resins that drove his father in his career. Now, the third generation, Tristen and Grant Scheffer are also onboard, learning the business from their grandfather and father.
John Gazza joined the family business in 2017, bringing his patented "Cross Step" bottom and refined timeless designs fueled with a passion for building. From real estate to offshore boats, Gazza has been involved in building better designed and engineered vessels, making them stronger, more nimble, better operating and beautiful. Vessels that's that can truly stand the test of time. He has been instrumental in developing the new generation Tribute Boat design and structure, which is being developed further for larger boats.

Tribute Boats newest hulls incorporate the latest in engineering, every piece of foam, every layer of glass is designed by a specific composite engineer who keeps the Tribute brand above production standards. Superior “Fit and Finish” is Tribute Boats’ strong suit—every bilge, under deck and hatch is painstakingly finished by a small dedicated crew of skilled builders who aim for perfection—including the patented Tribute bottom.
Thanks to its patented, longitudinally vented transverse step, Tribute Boats minimize drag or slide and provide ventilation from two directions, enabling the boat to cut smoothly through any kind of water with ease.
This bottom design is key to the Tribute’s performance and was co-created with Stephen Matthews of Ocean Yacht Design, a former commercial fisherman and OMC test pilot with 20 years of yacht design experience. We are certain you will agree after your first ride, that the Tribute Boat’s
hull will take you through any seas and get you to your favorite fishing or cruising destinations in record time!
Depending on power choice, your 37’ Tribute will achieve speeds of mid-70s to high-80s, due to its fine degree of engineering. “We understand the science of boating, not just the nuances or various components,” says Rich Scheffer, Sr. “I made sure my son (Rich Scheffer, Jr.) pursued his interest in electrical engineering so he could take boat building to another dimension. We look at all the idiosyncrasies of production boats that people seem to accept, even though they
dampen the boating experience. We designed those annoying factors out of our boats,” states Scheffer.
Choose from your preferred features including Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, bow thrusters, tower, seating, teak flooring, underwater lights, dive door, ladder—you name it, we can incorporate it into
your boat. And when it comes to operational technology, we use C-Zone controls, your choice of navigation, operation and entertainment equipment.
Tribute Boats takes pride in thorough testing—from Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis—a big step above tank testing—to real world sea trials, to make sure to get it right, creating the most high-tech, fastest sportfish on the water. Nothing is left to chance and everything is built to
